Aerial Classes

Q: Are only cis-gender females allowed at your studio?
A: NO. ALL PEOPLE are welcome to take classes at DID Fit. Regardless of sexual orientation, etc.. All are welcome.

Q: What should I wear to class?
A: Short “booty” shorts and a tank/sports bra are best when coming to pole class. For Silks/Lyra we recommend leggings and a t-shirt or a long sleeve shirt. Come dressed for comfort during cardio classes.

Q: Should I wear shoes to class?
A: With pole, that is up to you. Many people find it easiest to go barefoot during class. As you become more experienced, you can add in some high heels if you’d like!  For Silks/Lyra you will definitely need to be barefoot or in socks. Some cardio classes require shoes.

Q: Do I have to master everything in each level before moving on?
A: No! You can stay in a class as long as you’d like. Ask your instructor for our "Level Advancement Sheet" to move on to the next level. Instructions and guidelines are included on the sheet. Additionally, your instructor can help guide you and determine when you are ready to take the next step.

Q: I think I’m too old to participate in this sport. Do you have an age limit?
A: No! We have people of all ages and abilities participate in our classes. Our minimum age for participation in pole is 16 and requires a parent signature. Our minimum age for Silks and Lyra is 12 and requires a parent signature.

Q: When are your classes?
A: We offer classes several days a week. Our most up to date classes can be found on our Class Schedule page. The easiest way to sign up for classes is by downloading the FREE MindBody app for Apple or Android and finding our studio.

Q: Is it ok if I have zero experience in dance and/or gymnastics?
A: Yes! We were all beginners once. Our instructors take the time to ensure you are prepared to move on to the next level when you’re ready. You'll start with the basics and work your way up as you feel comfortable. There is no pressure to move on if you’re not ready! We will teach you all that you need to know – no experience required. One of our most famous former students, Natasha Wang, had zero experience when she started.

Q: I have no upper body strength, so I don’t think this class is for me.
A: With pole, lyra and silks, you start at the beginning and progress from there. You build your strength as you go. There is no pressure to do something you don’t feel comfortable with, and we won’t ask you to do something that your body isn’t ready for. We meet you where you are.

Q: I don’t think I’m "sexy" enough.
A: You are. But it's also ok if that's not your vibe! No matter how sexy (or unsexy) you feel, pole, silks and lyra are a great workout for anyone. And you'll find confidence, power, grace and perhaps even sexiness somewhere along your journey. Also, not every routine has to be sexy. We all have our own style. You take what you learn and you make it your own.

Q: But I’m not flexible…and I have this old injury that deters me from participating in physical activity.
A: That’s ok! Everyone is different, and we will work with you to be sure that you are comfortable with the things we ask you to do. We won’t push you to do something you don’t feel comfortable with. The great thing about pole, silks and lyra is that there are an infinite amount of moves to choose from. So if you have a chronic injury, we can likely work around it.

Cardio and Dance Classes

Q: What should I wear to class?
A: For our cardio and dance classes we recommend comfortable pants or shorts and shirt. In all of theses classes you can expect squats, kicks, and lunges so be sure your pants aren't too tight!

Q: Should I wear shoes to class?
A: We recommend you always wear socks and tennis shoes. If your instructor decides differently, well then you will always have your bear feet with you!

Q. Do I need to have my own yoga mat and blocks?
A. We have lots of mats here at the studio that are cleaned on a daily basis, but it never hurts to have your own! We also have a few sets of blocks, but sometimes the class fills up and the blocks run out.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: We ask that you cancel at least two (2) hours prior to your class start time. You can do this by calling us, emailing, texting, or on the MindBody App. If not canceled prior to the two (2) hours you will still be charged for the class. An instructor may cancel class if there are no sign ups within 2 hours of the start time.
